Similar to the Sally Hansen effect probably but the Bondi Sands Glow is excellent for a quick and flawless colour on the legs. I whapped it on before the Pulp concert on Saturday and it looked great til I showered it off on Sunday.

Oooooh noted! Yes I don’t mind a sort of body bronzer, one you can wash off. It’s the ones that stay on I can’t bear. Also pulp 👌🏻

I’m starting to feel I’ve missed some kind of key beauty gene because despite loving nearly all Bobbi’s products from both old and new brands I loathe Miracle Balm with surprising forcefulness. Smells horrible, horrible texture, stinky Vaseline with a bit of colour mixed in. It’s a no for me (but would be boring if we all liked the same stuff!)

Haha this really made me smile. I’ll admit I was the same until I was convinced by a make up artist, who is currently using the colour flush on me. It stays on all day long! It does have a very distinct scent you’re right, but it’s grown on me. Wait til I’m bored with it in 6 months and mercilessly slag it off x

okay but wait, are you saying you haven't found ANY of those put on - wait an hour - wash off ones good? like Bondi Sands? I mean I know you're not an encyclopaedia but on the brink of a purchase but now wavering. will definitely get that Dove gradual stuff. self tanning in the summer is like a part-time job. or did one of you say that?

With the put on, wait an hour ones I honestly just lost patience in the end. Something always went wrong - a streak, a patch of white, and something invariably got dirty that wasn’t meant to. My knees always looked like they had old scabs on. And it all takes half a day! I don’t have time! If you do buy the Bondi S I’d love a report but I’d do the Dove quite honestly, two applications looks lovely and four is best.

I re-discovered a bottle of Tan Luxe illuminating gradual tan in a drawer, which I had in my mind was no good, but actually it's great, don't know what my problem was. it is a bit runny but if you squeeze some into a bowl and use a tanning brush it's actually good. and not too stinky. I mean they all stink but some of them really honk. I am highly likely to tip into a Bondi Sands purchase and if it goes well I will report back

I do rate tan luxe, they used to do a rollerball oil which was sliiiightly gimmicky but good when used with body moisturiser. Yes do come back with bondi results! Also - pre ordered Well This is Awkward!

Argh!! amazing!! I have to sell a certain number of copies before they will buy another book off me so every sale counts!! a nail-biter. Thank you xx the next book is about a pair of glamorous ladies with a cosmetics substack who solve crime x

(Claire speaking) oh my god that rollerball!!! Like a big tanning deodorant! I remember trying it and I looked like I had had tanned myself with the MS paint spray can tool.

I used to really rate Vita Liberata body blur for quick colour on legs, but either my legs have got sweatier (likely) or the formula has changed as find it comes off everywhere now, when I’m sure it never used to. What is amazing for whole body evening out for a wedding or something is Mac Face and Body, you don’t feel it on the skin and it doesn’t budge. Would be very interested in your thoughts on Mac, I never seem to shop there anymore or care about their new launches, and I don’t feel like anyone else does either!

Honestly Mac feels like a blast from the past at this point. I know they still supply theatres which should tell you all you need to know about how thick it is. But great tip about the face & body! I also still rate the strobe cream for a leg!

I was totally influenced by my IG feed to buy the Gatineau gradual tan at hideous expense £50! And I DO NOT rate it at all. It doesn’t come close to my beloved daily Dove in ease of application, coverage or colour. The Gatineau needs too much pre application prep and despite following the guidance it is still spotty on application and depth of tan is too yellow and fake looking for me. AND it comes off on the sheets despite showering before bed if I have applied in the morning. Why oh why did I two time Dove?!! I’m disappointed in those I followed who encouraged me to buy it. Damn them and damn myself.

Ps love the idea of splitting up the everlasting and slightly mysterious Miracle Balm

I don’t know how these tanning brands get away with it when Dove is so good. I’m yet to find a single one that isn’t a disaster in at least 1 area. Pre application prep as well, £50 for more jobs! x

Gatineau is rubbish, the only good thing about it is the pump action bottle
