I actually think it would be hellish to be a beautiful celebrity at a festival. Yes I know they’re all staying in 4K yurts with full blow dry facilities etc but walking around Worthy Farm all day and still looking halfway decent is no mean feat, believe me. The heat and dust clouds of last year! Presumably the likes of Sienna Miller were taking regular trips to top up highlighter in the long drop, as on the BBC coverage they all looked like Raquel Welch in One Million Years BC and not, as the rest of us did -
But there is something freeing about doing away with makeup/looking nice altogether (I hate the term ‘looking nice’ in this context, as I happen to think no makeup looks nicest of all). I would glance around at some of the girly wirlies in their Violette_fr cookie-monster-blue liquid eyeshadows and wonder how the hell they were planning on getting that off at sunrise after all those pingers. The answer for most people is wipes, but please don’t do it if you can help it. They’re so bad for the turtles.
What you cannot do away with though, are skin and hair care. Being outdoors au naturel might be great for the soul, but no one has ever asked Bear Grylls what moisturiser he uses.
